Personal Details

This should include date of birth, address, e-mail, phone number and when required, gender, age and nationality. If you have one permanent address and a temporary one, specify this. If you want to gain space in order to save the limits of the length of CV, personal details can be written with a smaller size font than the rest of the CV, but never with capital letters, as they are not the ones that should attract the employer’s attention. In case your CV raises the reader’s interest, then he/she will return to your contact details.

The order of presentation of these details and the emphasis you give to each part depends on what you are applying for and what you need to offer. If you are applying for more than one job, you must have different types of CV under different career fields, highlighting your skills and different experiences tailored by subject.

For students who have just finished, it is advisable to start their CV with academic background. It is very likely that at that age, education is their most important asset. Also, it is advisable to make the order from the last experience . If you have special achievements, then they should appear in the CV, and the title of the dissertation or date of graduation if you think are important and help strengthen your profile, should be written in CV. Beware, if you provide specific results or achievements, always put real information, because the relevant documents may be requested and if you lied your application will lose any credibility.
